Objective:To explore pathogenic factor of sudden deafness and to study the factors influencing the effectiveness of treating sudden deafness.Method:A retrospective analysis was performed in 158cases(170ears) of sudden deafness patients from Jan.2005 to Feb.2008.Results:History of the upper respiratory tract infection reached 34.18%in 158cases before deafness, the percentage of dysfunction of microcirculation was 22.78%and the percentage of psychological factor was 6.96%,It is demonstration that viral infection was stood first on the list of the pathogenic factors of sudden deafness.dysfunction of microcirculation and psychological factor were posterior. The clinical curative effect of sudden deafness was closely associated with age,the onset time of disease and treatment in early times, the degree of hearing loss and the types of the audiometric results before treatment,vertigo(P<0.05),however,not with the gender and tinnitus(P>0.05). Conclusion:According to pathogenic factor of sudden deafness,we should choose adaptive program of treatment to improve clinical curative effect; The older the patients, the less the effectiveness, the less of the degree of sudden hearing loss with uprising configuration, the earlier treatment, the more effective the treatment can be, only low frequency of hearing loss of patients have, better treatment;vertigo have important influence on treatment;Tinnitus and gender have no significant influence on the curative effect of sudden deafness.
